The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is a world-class cross-sea cluster project that combines a bridge, an island, a tunnel, and an underwater interchange. It is located approximately 30 kilometers north of the Humen Bridge and about 31 kilometers south of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It forms the critical horizontal axis of the A-shaped traffic network of the 100-kilometer "Golden Inner Bay" around the Pearl River Estuary.

The route spans approximately 24 kilometers, starting from the Shenzhen Airport Interchange and connecting with the Guangshen Yanjiang Expressway (phases I and II). It crosses the Pearl River Estuary westward, landing on Ma'an Island in Zhongshan, and connects with the Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway. Through the connecting lines, it facilitates travel to Shenzhen, Zhongshan, and Guangzhou's Nansha District. It adheres to the technical standards of a dual eight-lane expressway with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

In April of this year, the bridge component of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link passed the load test with high marks and received the George R. Richardson Award from the International Bridge Conference, known as the "Nobel Prize" of the bridge industry. On June 16th, the Link passed the completion inspection, setting ten world records, including the world's largest offshore steel box girder suspension bridge, the world's highest navigable clearance sea bridge, and the world's longest dual eight-lane undersea tunnel.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is expected to be ready for traffic by the end of this month. Once officially open, it will enable a direct journey from Shenzhen to Zhongshan in under 30 minutes.
