Welcome to Guangzhou! To further promote inbound tourism and convey Guangzhou's sincerity to international tourists, Guangzhou will, starting from the end of June, offer a free one-day tour program to international transit passengers.

This program aligns with China's existing 144-hour visa-free transit policy, inviting more international tourists to immerse themselves in the warmth and charm of the Flower City of China.

The city of Guangzhou has also released a brand-new cultural and tourism promotional video titled "Visa Free, Feel Free" in six languages to send a sincere invitation to tourists around the world.

The video was released in Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean during the 2024 Guangzhou Aviation Hub High-quality Development Conference, themed "Open World, China's Hub", on June 17-18, 2024.

Since May 1, 2019, Guangdong has officially implemented the 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreigners. People from more than 50 countries holding valid international travel documents and connecting tickets to a third country (region) within 144 hours can enjoy the visa-free transit policy within the administrative region of Guangdong Province.

Guangzhou is one of the gateway cities implementing the 144-hour visa-free transit policy and a preferred "treasure" destination for foreign tourists visiting Guangdong.

According to the Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism Bureau, a free one-day tour program will be provided for international transit passengers at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. International transit passengers holding foreign passports can register for the free one-day tour in Guangzhou. Free tour buses, English-speaking tour guides, scenic spot visits, dim sum for lunch, and other services will be provided, enabling international transit passengers to experience the hospitality of the city and its people within the limited transit time.

The Guangzhou one-day tour program mainly focuses on urban sightseeing routes showcasing Guangzhou's history and culture. The itinerary covers Flower City Square, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the Five Rams Statue, and the Ming Dynasty City Wall in Yuexiu Park, passing by the Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou Library, Guangzhou Opera House, and Canton Tower, all of which are the most classic tourist attractions in Guangzhou.

This program serves not only to continuously highlight the 144-hour visa-free transit policy but also to fully leverage its role in fostering Guangzhou's economic and tourism growth, thus enhancing the city's global image. According to recent information, a designated meeting point will be established at Baiyun Airport, where international transit passengers will be offered free one-day tour services.

Since China has decided to try out the expansion of the scope of unilaterally visa-free countries and has implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia, Guangzhou has immediately extended a warm invitation to visa-free entry tourists from these six countries, demonstrating the city's hospitality and enthusiasm.
